Escaping the darkness of Sweden and Iceland all PhDs and supervisors met for the second AdaptEconII workshop in France from December the 5th to 11th 2016. Also, escaping the pre-Christmas stress the training took place in the Volcanoes next to Clermont Ferrand. This workshop was especially focused on economic training and understanding how current economic system’s work and what are the underlying economic theories. On a more practical level (academic) publishing and writing practices were presented and discussed.
Not only did the PhDs receive economic lectures but also did they present their own research to each other and updated each other of their latest findings and new plans. Of course, next to the lectures there was time to enjoy French cuisine and volcanic nature. An exceptional experience was the hike into the Volcanos during the night (only using head torches).
