The first AdaptEconII workshop took place in Iceland from May 22nd to June 3rd 2016. This was the first time all twelve PhDs were in the same place and met the supervisors from all three Universities. The first part of the workshop took place in Hvergerði, one of Icelands unpronounceable beautiful hot spring areas. The training of this first part included an introduction to systems analysis and system dynamics as well as an introduction to environmental and biophysical economics. After getting to know each other in Hvergerði and enjoying the hot springs, the second part of the workshop was held in Reykjavik. In Reykjavik further training in systems analysis and training was provided. Additionally, some transferable skills (World Cafe) were introduced. Of course, next to the formal training there was time to explore Iceland, at least a bit.
